RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Planning and Development Board (PPDB) has granted permission to begin land acquisition for the revised Rawalpindi Ring Road project.
Furthermore, it has also approved the PC-I of the project – costing Rs6.7 billion.
As per the proposed plan, the new route – 38.3 kilometers – will originate from Banth near Rawat and terminate at Thalian near the motorway.
According to a senior official, the Punjab government would be funding the project because it will be built under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). However, no funds have been set aside for the project in the current fiscal year.
