The 43km long road, which will be widened and upgraded, is scheduled to be revamped in under two years, with the project costing Rs1.6 billion. Upon conclusion, the new road would cut down travel time between Bara and Tirah valley from four to two hours.

On the other hand, the construction of the Rescue 1122 building is expected to take 18 months for completion for Rs45 million.

The CM reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continue developing the recently merged tribal districts.

“We have plans to utilise Rs50bn additional development funds during the current fiscal year out of the total Rs83bn,” said Mahmood, adding that his government had so far utilised Rs12 billion received from the federal government for the development of the region.
