Rs640m in outstanding property tax not recovered by CDA: Audit Report FY18-19

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) did not recover Rs640 million in outstanding property taxes, according to the audit report published for the 2018-19 fiscal year.

While reviewing CDA’s revenue department accounts, the report revealed that Rs380.4 million in property taxes on residential buildings and Rs260.1 million on commercial buildings were outstanding up to June 2018.

The report attributed weak follow-ups towards the recovery of outstanding taxes. It further advised taking effective steps by the top management level, which should devise a comprehensive system of follow up of defaulter cases through additional deputy commissioner revenue.
