Two new LNG terminals to be built at Port Qasim

KARACHI: To overcome the energy crisis in the country, two new offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals will be built at Port Qasim by foreign companies, said Port Qasim Authority (PQA) Chairman Hasan Nasir Shah.

While briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs about operations and current activities of the port, Shah informed that in addition to the two existing LNG terminals, the construction of the two new LNG terminals will be completed in the next 24 months.

The meeting to review the current activities of the port was held for two days under the Chairperson Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, at the PQA Head Office.

Furthermore, the members of the committee also visited the operational area and industrial zone of the port to review the progress of the ongoing projects of the PQA in terms of operations and revenue generation.
