CDA, ICTA, MCI launch work to secure the RoW from illegal encroachments

ISLAMABAD: In a joint endeavour, Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Enforcement Directorate Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) have launched efforts to secure Right-of-Way (RoW) on both sides of the Kashmir Highway from illegal encroachment.

Under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner, ICT and Director Enforcement, implementation work will be carried out from GT Road intersection to Zero Point Interchange.

In order to improve the green character of the city, work to level the ground is underway on both sides of the Kashmir Highway.

To accomplish the task, 150 OMG of Environment Wing, MCI, four dozers of Machinery Pool Organisation (MPO) Directorate, one dozer of District administration are participating along with two grader machines of MPO Directorate and three tractors of the Environment Wing, MCI.

Furthermore, action was taken by the CDA’s Enforcement Directorate to demolish illegal constructions and encroachments in Islamabad, including razing nine illegal cattle farms near Pandora Chungee, IJP Road and removed six jhugees established on the Green Belt.

Illegally established selling points of sand, gravel and brick were also removed constructed on residential plots in Sector I-14/3.

Tightening the noose against illegal constructions, the Municipal Administration Directorate has sought the assistance of the district administration Islamabad in the operation. The CDA Enforcement Directorate participated in the operation along with staff and machinery and eliminated numerous illegal encroachments in the area.
