CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa has directed that inspections of both public and private properties be completed within one month. Property owners have been formally notified and instructed to prepare comprehensive fire safety and emergency exit plans. Public buildings will develop their safety plans in coordination with the CDA.

The authority’s Building Control Directorate has constituted special inspection teams that will first examine high-risk and sensitive buildings to ensure compliance with approved safety standards. The survey will eventually cover every residential and commercial structure in Islamabad to reduce the risk of fire and gas-related incidents.

CDA officials stressed the need for functional emergency exits, fire detection and alarm systems, and clearly defined safety protocols. Property owners have been urged to take immediate steps to safeguard occupants and visitors.

According to the CDA, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen urban safety, resilience and emergency preparedness, reflecting the authority’s commitment to modern and science-based management of the city.
