Islamabad: In a bid to curb unauthorized constructions and encroachments, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Captain (Retired) Anwar-ul-Haq, has initiated swift actions in Islamabad.
As part of these efforts, the Building Control Directorate, in collaboration with the Enforcement Directorate, the district administration, and Islamabad Police, took stringent measures on Tuesday along GT Road, T-Chowk, Sohan Adda, and surrounding areas, cracking down on buildings that were being constructed without CDA approval.
According to details, multiple commercial buildings, totaling 14, were sealed for violating building bylaws on GT Road, T-Chowk, Sohan Adda, and nearby regions. Notices were issued to the owners for their unlawful constructions.
During these operations, carried out in line with Chairman CDA’s directives, the Enforcement Directorate has been actively combating encroachments and land mafia. On Tuesday, action was taken in various parts of Islamabad, including H-12, Pothohar Road, Kuri Road, Park Road, and rural areas like Bari Imam, Saidpur, and Rawal Town.
Heavy machinery was employed to demolish illegal constructions, resulting in the confiscation of eight trucks laden with construction materials from public roads and green belts.
The drive to make Islamabad a city free from encroachments remains ongoing, with the anti-encroachment campaign set to continue. It is worth noting that the Federal Capital has witnessed a sustained operation against unauthorized encroachments, illegal constructions, and violations of building bylaws by the CDA for several months now.
