The Baku Team presented a comprehensive briefing on ongoing beautification efforts, which have earned appreciation from the Prime Minister, especially for their impact during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Chairman Randhawa commended the Baku Team’s contributions and emphasized the importance of sustaining these beautification initiatives to maintain and elevate Islamabad’s aesthetic appeal over the long term.

The Baku Team highlighted several current projects, including the enhancement of Saidpur Village, the revitalization of Melody Market in G-6, and the beautification of key areas such as main avenues, walkways, parking spaces, and green belts throughout the city. The Chairman encouraged the Baku Team to continue collaborating with the CDA’s Environment Wing and share new design proposals for future beautification efforts.

In line with Islamabad’s identity as a ‘green city’, Chairman Randhawa directed that beautification efforts should prioritize the preservation of green spaces and promote natural landscaping. He also requested a cost-effective design proposal for the aesthetic enhancement of the Civil Secretariat Building.

Addressing the need for improved infrastructure, the Chairman instructed CDA to review technical proposals for permanent road and bridge lighting and directed an upgrade of the light poles on Constitution Avenue. He requested new design concepts for the light poles, aiming to align with Islamabad’s modern yet natural cityscape.

To ensure continuity and effectiveness, Chairman Randhawa emphasized the need for a comprehensive, long-term beautification plan for Islamabad. He directed CDA officials to establish clear timelines, outcomes, and deliverables to ensure sustained beautification efforts that will enhance the city’s image and quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

This initiative marks a significant step in Islamabad’s journey toward becoming one of the region’s most visually appealing and environmentally conscious capitals.
