
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Asad Umar, on Thursday, will launch construction work on 35-km-long Margalla Road.
The inauguration ceremony will also be attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Ali Nawaz Awan.
The SAPM stated that the Planning Minister is the elected MNA from the area and will formally inaugurated the highway on Thursday.
Prime Minister, Imran Khan, performed the groundbreaking of the project in April.
The construction work on the highway will be completed in two phases: from Sangjani to D-12 and then from Constitution Avenue to Murree Road, bypassing Bhara Kahu.
The contract for the construction work of the Margalla Road has been awarded to Frontier Works Organisation (FWO).
