ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed the timely completion of development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). He highlighted the importance of the projects, stating that these projects would increase development and add to the creation of employment opportunities.
The prime minister stated this while presiding over PSDP 2019-20 financial year meeting. The meeting took notice of the progress made on development projects across Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, Minister for National Food Security Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Special Assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Chairman Planning Commission, and Secretary Planning Commission, along with other senior officials.
The prime minister was briefed on PSDP’s first and second quarterly progress reports. Reports of progress made by various ministries were also presented to the premier.
The prime minister stressed the need for carefully monitoring the execution and implementation of the projects and underscored the necessity of ensuring that no instances of red-tapism occur.
