ISLAMABAD: Restoration of the Muzaffarabad Airport to air-link Azad Jammu and Kashmir as the commercial flights would be operational to attract more tourism.
A meeting held between the AJK Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana and CEO of Pakistan International Airlines Air Marshal Arshad Malik took place in Islamabad yesterday to decide the renovation process and speed up the operation.
A feasibility report to be prepared within a week which addresses the restoration of flights between Islamabad to Muzaffarabad as Pakistan International Airlines works together with Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
During a meeting on tourism last month, Prime Minister Imran Khan highlighted the vast potential for tourism in AJK which should be further explored. PM had asked their government to devise a comprehensive strategy to accelerate the promotion of tourism in the region and full support from the federation was assured.
