
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar approved Rs500 million for the Punjab Housing & Town Planning Agency in a high-level meeting at the CM office on Monday.
The meeting also included a progress brief for the attendees on the Naya Pakistan Housing Project for low-income persons. A detailed briefing on the Naya Pakistan Housing strategy was also given to the participants.
A directive for the removal of obstacles to ensure smooth and on-time completion of the NPHS was given by the CM Buzdar. He also instructed that the financial conditions of a common man should be kept in the mind while drawing up the housing policy of the project. A decision to launch rural housing projects in 17 villages was also taken during the meeting.
The chief minister directed that small houses and parks should be constructed on four acres of land in rural areas and the rural housing project will be initiated in collaboration with Akhuwat. The meeting also discussed at length matters relating to private housing scheme rules, commercialisation fee and transfer of state land. The proposal to abolish Punjab Land Development Company gradually was also reviewed in the meeting.
