10 development schemes approved for Punjab

LAHORE: Ten development projects for various sectors were approved by Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) at the estimated cost of Rs1,52,208.239 million. The developmental schemes were approved in the 34th meeting of the PDWP for the fiscal year 2020-21. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Planning & Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal.

As per details, the schemes approved include provision of missing facilities, upgradation of DHQ Hospital to Teaching Hospital DG Khan at the estimated cost of Rs 5,452 million, rehabilitation of 20.61 Km Faisalabad — Satiana Road from By-Pass upto Tandilianwala  at the cost of Rs500 million, establishment of University of Applied Engineering and Emerging Technologies Sialkot at the cost of Rs16,949 million, rehabilitation/improvement of roads from MC Limits upto Ring Road Faisalabad at the cost of Rs. 1,115 million, promotion of Climate Smart High Value Agriculture the cost of Rs13,515 million, water productivity enhancement through Resource Conservation Technologies at the cost of Rs27,493 million, dualization of Lilla Interchange via PD Khan to Jhelum at the cost of Rs13,947 million, construction of Metalled Road from Kharar Buzdar to Bewata District DG Khan at the cost of Rs1,951 million, Punjab Irrigated Agriculture Productivity Improvement Project at the cost of Rs67,458 million, Sustainable Productivity Enhancement through Promotion of Climate Smart and efficient mechanized farming practices at the cost of Rs3,822 million. 

Members of the Planning & Development Board, assistant chief coordination, provincial secretaries of relevant departments, senior chief (Coord), and other representatives concerned provincial departments were also in attendance.
