Islamabad: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned $9 million in project readiness financing (PRF) for design support and strengthening climate responsiveness of urban sector projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
PRF aims to simplify documentation, preparation and engineering design ensuring an efficient use of time and cost reduction. It shall include preparation of the initial two phases of the proposed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP) which include improving urban services and civic facilities in the cities of Kohat, Abbottabad, Mardan, Peshawar and others.
Urban infrastructure projects will spur economic growth by shortening commutes and lowering business costs, said the K-P Planning and Development Secretary Arif Rehman.
