
Islamabad: The government has introduced additional taxes worth Rs516 billion besides an increase of Rs1.5 trillion in tax target for the fiscal year 2019-20, said Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar.
The government has aimed to collect revenues worth Rs5.5 trillion for the upcoming fiscal year. Besides informing assembly about the steps taken by the government to broaden tax base, he also told about data integration of 55 million individuals with FBR, securing of data of 152,000 offshore accounts under OECD agreement and rationalisation of valuation rates for property and more.
The minister also expressed that many road projects will be undertaken in South Punjab including Indus Highway linking with Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan and M.M. Alam Road linking eight districts from Multan and Bahawalpur and Lodhran.
