
Muzaffarabad: In a recent meeting of Additional Chief Secretary for Development, Dr Syed Asif Hussain, discussion on 16 projects from varied sectors was held by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Development Working Party (DWP). Projects stood at an estimated cost of Rs1.9 billion.
The projects under discussion included control, management and mitigation of landslides, initiation of water supply schemes for Muzaffarabad and Kotli, completion of water supply work in Chakswari in district Mirpur, construction of accommodation of the civil judge, provision of basic civic amenities on Pallandari, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and Forward Kahuta, establishment of hatcheries and poultry farming including fish farming in AJK.
According to Dr Hussain, provision of facilities and welfare is the priority of the government and so all departments should ensure transparent and timely utilisation of funds. Quality and standard of quality will not be compromised, he added.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the federal government and secretaries of the concerned line departments and officials of the planning and development department from the AJK government.
