Gulshan-e-Iqbal is one of the most important boroughs in the northeastern part of Karachi. Established in 2001 as part of the ‘Local Government Ordinance’, the town was subdivided into 11 union councils.
Located on the easter side of Pakistan’s major port city, Gulshan-e-Iqbal is bordered by the Faisal and Malir Cantt to the east, Liaquatabad and Gulberg to the west, Gadap Town to the north, and Jamshed Town to the southwest.
Due to its large land area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal is divided into 19 blocks, making it one of the largest towns in the city. The town is home to more than a million people who enjoy a diverse lifestyle and observe a cultural mix.
