Islamabad: As part of the PSDP for the fiscal year (FY) 2019-2010, a development plan worth Rs10 billion has been announced for improvement in sewerage and sanitation including the rehabilitation of water supply systems and roads. Approved by National Economic Council (NEC) headed by the PM, the formation of Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) had also been approved. Representatives from ministries of finance, planning and other sectors will be included with the permit to approve development projects up to Rs60 million.
The approved development work to be executed by the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA) or Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration is yet to be decided.
This development package is solely aimed towards the rural areas of Islamabad, said Special Assistant to PM on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan. Adding further, the package will also execute an overhead bridge in Bhara Kahu and the five lane extension of Islamabad Expressway from Koral to G.T Road. Under the package, development programmes will be made part of the Public Sector Development Programme in the upcoming budget.
