ISLAMABAD: For the establishment of a Capital Mass Transit Authority (CMTA), the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has drafted an ordinance, which has been forwarded to the Interior Ministry for approval.
The CMTA will be responsible to operate the metro bus service between Peshawar Mor and Islamabad International Airport (IIA), as CDA will be relieved from the mandate to play any role in operating a bus service.
As per sources, Communication Minster will be chairman of the CMTA and officials from various ministries, which include communication and planning, will be involved in the running of the authority.
The construction work to lay the 25.6 km track for the bus service project worth Rs16 billion is expected to conclude by February next year, announced the National Highway Authority (NHA) who are currently executing the project.
