Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) have agreed to collaborate on attracting foreign investment and expanding development partnerships to transform Islamabad into a globally competitive city.
A meeting held at the CDA Headquarters, chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, brought together OPF Managing Director Mohammad Afzaal Bhatti and a delegation of overseas investors to explore potential ventures.
Chairman Randhawa emphasized Islamabad’s strong appeal for international investors, noting that the CDA is encouraging joint venture models to promote participation in the city’s infrastructure, tourism, and real estate projects. He assured that the CDA is offering complete facilitation to investors, adding that several hospitality projects are already in progress to enhance the capital’s modern image.
He also revealed that feasibility studies are underway for advanced sports facilities, including an Olympic Village, to establish Islamabad as a global sports hub.
The overseas delegation showed keen interest in investment opportunities within the tourism and hospitality sectors. Both sides agreed to continue discussions to finalize viable, mutually beneficial projects.
Randhawa reaffirmed the CDA’s dedication to fostering sustainable development through public-private partnerships, stressing that such collaborations will boost investor confidence and contribute to Islamabad’s long-term urban growth.
The meeting was attended by senior CDA officials, including Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, and the Directors General of Building & Housing Control and Resource.
