The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has greenlit the hiring of consultancy services for three major entertainment ventures in Islamabad—a theme park, a Ferris wheel, and a cable car project. The decision was made during the 75th meeting of the Development Working Party (DWP) on Tuesday, where PC-II proposals for conducting feasibility studies and preparing detailed designs were approved.
The allocated budgets for consultancy services stand at Rs206 million for the theme park, Rs61.8 million for the Ferris wheel, and Rs197.76 million for the cable car project. These developments aim to enhance recreational infrastructure in the capital and cater to a growing population of over two million.
CDA officials highlighted that Islamabad’s increasing popularity as a tourist destination calls for new attractions to improve visitor experiences. The consultancy phase for all three projects is expected to conclude within six months, setting the stage for a new era of urban entertainment and tourism in the city.
