Islamabad: The Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) has officially terminated its contract with AJCL, the firm tasked with digitizing Islamabad’s parking system, citing repeated violations, negligence, and financial misconduct, according to a Capital Development Authority (CDA) spokesperson on Tuesday.
The move comes after AJCL consistently failed to fulfill its contractual duties, resulting in public safety concerns and considerable revenue losses. Investigations uncovered that the company had not installed the required digital payment infrastructure, conducted cash transactions without proper documentation, and ignored necessary security protocols—leading to thefts and inconvenience for citizens.
Despite receiving multiple warnings, AJCL did not address the identified shortcomings, prompting the DMA to initiate legal proceedings. An FIR has been lodged at Kohsar Police Station, and the agreement with the company has now been formally cancelled.
