
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Capt (r) Noor Ul Amin Mangal, on Thursday, chaired a meeting to discuss plans to improve the public transport system in the federal capital.
As per reports, the concerned departments were directed to plan the launch of the Purple Line on IJP Road, the Silver Line on Tramri Road and the extension of the Blue Line to Rawat in order to ameliorate the issue of traffic congestion.
These initiatives were undertaken to improve the transport facilities offered in the capital for the benefit of the masses.
It was further decided that the student fares would be reduced by 50% while it would be eliminated for children under 10 years of age and senior citizens.
The chairman stressed the timely completion of existing projects and requested citizens to provide constructive feedback to guide the efforts.
