Enforcement operations were conducted on Thursday to address the issue of unauthorized car showrooms. These operations were executed by teams from the Building Control, Estate, and Enforcement wings. Notably, over 100 illegal car showrooms were effectively closed down in the G-8 sector.

It is worth mentioning that a considerable number of complaints had been lodged concerning these unlawful establishments, with a focal point being the G-8 area. The principal objective behind Chairman Noor Ul Amin Mengal’s directive to shut down these showrooms is to foster legitimate business activities while concurrently ensuring unhindered pedestrian movement.

Moreover, a specialized operation initiated on Tuesday has resulted in the closure of more than 130 unlicensed car showrooms. This concerted effort primarily concentrated on key areas including F-10, F-11, the Blue Area, and G-8.

It is of significance to underscore that these unauthorized car showrooms not only infringed upon public parking spaces but also impeded the convenience of pedestrians. In addition, Chairman Noor Ul Amin Mengal, through an extensive advertising campaign, had forewarned property owners against deploying their premises for illicit activities. Non-compliance with this directive could potentially lead to the confiscation or sale of such properties.

Following the elapse of the stipulated deadline set by the CDA, as well as the issuance of multiple notifications, a comprehensive survey was conducted. This involved compiling a comprehensive list of all unlicensed car showrooms across diverse centers. Subsequently, actions were initiated in accordance with established protocols. These measures will remain in effect until all illegal car showrooms are effectively eradicated.
