Islamabad: On Thursday, Captain (Retired) Anwar-ul-Haq, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, joined the Saya Foundation’s tree-planting initiative in Sector D-12/2 Green Belt. The project was conducted in collaboration with Mari Petroleum.
This tree-planting event, which took place on Thursday, was organized by the Environmental Department of the Capital Development Authority, in partnership with Mari Petroleum. A total of 2,000 trees were planted in Sector D-12/2 Green Belt, including Platanus, Argan, and Sikkin tree species.
It’s worth noting that these trees were planted at a height of 8 to 10 feet to ensure their robust growth. Students from Saya School and the administrative team from Mari Petroleum actively participated in this tree-planting initiative.
During the event, Captain (Retired) Anwar-ul-Haq, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), expressed his satisfaction with the environmentally friendly efforts made in collaboration with the private sector. He emphasized the significance of private sector involvement in advancing environmentally conscious initiatives in Islamabad.
He stated, “The active participation of the private sector in environmental activities in Islamabad is highly commendable and promising.”
The tree-planting campaign not only contributes to increasing Islamabad’s green coverage but also demonstrates the shared commitment of the public and private sectors to creating a greener and more sustainable future for the city.
