ISLAMABAD: To inhibit the spread of coronavirus in the capital, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration have launched a sanitization campaign.
Chlorine and bleach are being used by the authorities to disinfect the area.
The initiative will cover sanitization of all hospitals including Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), and established quarantine centres and shelter homes, informed Sheikh Ansar Aziz, Mayor of Islamabad.
Major roads especially the Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, Jinnah Avenue, 7th Avenue, and Kashmir Highway will also be disinfected, he further added.
The sanitization of Jinnah Supermarket, F10, G10, Melody centre and major trade centres would be carried out tomorrow by the authorities.
Around 30 water tankers and fire engines are being utilised in the operation.
While urging the citizens to stay indoors and practice all advised precautionary measures, Sheikh Ansar Aziz said: “every possible step would be taken to protect the citizens of Islamabad from the deadly outbreak.”
