The agenda included expediting the construction and repair of main roads and highways, widening existing roads, and ensuring the upkeep of infrastructure, green belts, and interchanges. The use of seasonal, eco-friendly plants and vibrant flowers for landscaping was discussed, with instructions to intensify plantation and seed sowing ahead of the summer.

Senior officials from the Environment, Engineering, Planning departments, as well as CDA and DMA officers, were present at the meeting. The CDA chairman emphasized consistent maintenance and beautification of Islamabad’s central avenues, interchanges, and highways. Multiple landscaping designs for median strips and green belts were reviewed for implementation.

Randhawa directed the installation of decorative planters at major intersections to uplift the city’s aesthetics. The Environment, Planning, and Engineering wings were instructed to enhance their monitoring mechanisms to ensure timely updates and effective issue resolution.

It was highlighted during the meeting that Islamabad Traffic Police is working on digitising traffic management systems along key highways. The initiative aims to improve coordination and identify high-traffic corridors for smoother vehicular flow, enhancing convenience for both residents and tourists. Randhawa recommended that revenue from digital billboards be allocated specifically for road repairs and maintenance.

The chairman also instructed the upgradation of the CDA Model Nursery to attract university and college students for research purposes. He directed the IT Wing to develop a mobile application allowing residents to buy plants and seeds at subsidized rates online. A joint survey team, including members from the Environment, Engineering, DMA, Assistant Commissioners, and IT officers, was tasked with evaluating central highways and identifying development needs.

Urgency was placed on completing pending infrastructure work, including patchwork, lane marking, and curb stone installations. Plans to develop a food street and pedestrian walkways in Blue Area were discussed, with a decision to engage the Chamber of Commerce and local traders for their input.

Randhawa also announced plans for surprise site visits and ordered immediate implementation of plantation drives, pedestrian bridge installations, and the placement of solar cat-eyes on Park Road. Additionally, the Engineering Wing was directed to begin upgrades in the Diplomatic Enclave.

Concluding the meeting, the CDA chairman emphasized stronger collaboration between all CDA departments to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
