ISLAMABAD: On account of violating building and zoning bylaws, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed 16 commercial buildings after initiating action against approved housing societies situated in Zones II and V in Islamabad.
The Building Control Directorate –II, Islamabad Capital Administration (ICT) and the Islamabad Police, along with the authority and other concerned departments participated in the crackdown.
The action was taken against the owners after they failed to obtain or submit approved building plans or data regarding the completion of buildings.
Prior to this, housing authorities had been notified to display approved building plans in the housing societies.
To curtail illegal construction and ensure implementation of building by-laws in the territorial limits of Islamabad, CDA, along with Building Control Directorate –II has announced to direct a comprehensive drive against the violators who have not yet compiled the instructions of the authority.
