ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought an extension of 4 months in the Korang Bridge Project worth Rs658 million.
The project earlier scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2021, will now be completed in April 2022.
The project is aimed to reduce the heavy traffic observed and accommodate the daily commuters and residents of the nearby housing societies.
In this regard, the authority also announced to repair and expand the existing service road from Faizabad to Koral. The road holds immense significance as it provides a link to Punjab, Azad Kashmir, the northern areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The contract for both projects – both P.W.D. Underpass and Korang Bridge projects were awarded simultaneously. The civic agency reported having completed the P.W.D. underpass.
