Habib Construction Services (HCS), in partnership with ZKB, emerged as the lowest bidder, offering a price 2% below the estimated cost. Only two firms participated, with the second bidder quoting 11% higher. The proposal will now be forwarded for approval before the work order is issued.

The project includes a 570-meter-long flyover for direct access from Lahore to the Islamabad Expressway and a slip road for traffic heading back toward Lahore. Although officially slated for completion in five months, officials suggest the work could be finished within three months if expedited.

CDA Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza highlighted the flyover’s importance in maximizing the benefits of the signal-free Expressway. He said the authority has already completed two major projects on ministerial directives and would prioritize this one as well.

Separately, CDA is set to open financial bids next week for the Rs1.3 billion Shaheen Chowk underpass to ease congestion at Ninth Avenue and Khayaban-i-Iqbal. The authority is also moving forward with plans to extend Margalla Road from GT Road to Motorway.
