CDA to conclude PWD underpass on schedule

ISLAMABAD: PWD underpass located on Islamabad Expressway is in progress at a fast pace and has a high probability to be concluded by the end of June 2021 as per schedule.

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) informed that the authority is with the timely completion of the project are also instigating the upgradation of the entire Islamabad Expressway from Koang nullah bridge up to T-chowk on G T Road.

According to the details, the tenders for the expansion of the Expressway will be floated before June 2021, after the expected completion of the PWD underpass and Korang Nullah Bridge. The CDA has also formulated the project for revamping the IJP (Inter Junction Provincial) Road for the convenience of heavy traffic flow.

As per the officials,  Project Director of CDA, Engr. Mumtaz Hussain informed that currently, there is a hurdle in moving the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd. (SNGPL) but the concerned divisions are cooperating in all possible ways. There is an upsetting factor of shifting the 16-inch gas pipeline of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd. (SNGPL), however, they will extend necessary cooperation in this regard.
