ISLAMABAD, May 13 – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched an extensive cleanliness campaign at various tourist spots in the federal capital to enhance their appeal to visitors. A CDA official stated that the campaign, initiated recently, aims to maintain an immaculate environment, particularly as a large number of tourists are flocking to Islamabad and Rawalpindi for leisure trips.
The official highlighted that CDA sanitation workers are actively collecting plastic waste and other litter, which detracts from the cleanliness of these areas. The campaign addresses the significant challenge of reducing plastic waste, especially in green spaces, where plastic bottles, wrappers, and shopping bags are frequently discarded.
To promote cleanliness, the official urged the public to use the designated dustbins in all parks across the capital to dispose of waste properly, thus ensuring a fresh and hygienic environment conducive to a healthy lifestyle. Officials emphasised that every citizen’s civic duty is to promote cleanliness and discourage littering in tourist areas. They also underscored the importance of educating others about maintaining cleanliness in parks and public spaces.
In response to the campaign, citizens from various backgrounds have praised the CDA’s efforts in its cleanliness drive, recognising the significance of these initiatives in preserving the beauty and cleanliness of tourist destinations.
