ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to resume the construction of the remaining portion of Margalla Road, informed Director Road (North), Mr Rana Tariq.
The road will provide access to the C-13, C-14, C-15, and C-16 sectors. The contract of the announced project will be awarded after the authority finalises the construction cost, he further added.
Under the first phase, a contract for a portion of 6.5km of Margalla road will be awarded while the work remaining portion of 2km will be started after the matter pertaining to the presence of the old graveyard is sorted out.
Under the city’s masterplan, the planned Margalla road passes by GT road, and all the way to Bhara Kahu but it could not be completed. Once the 8.5km portion of Margalla road is completed it will give an alternate route to the traffic coming from Kashmir Motorway and New Airport.
