ISLAMABAD: In a meeting presided by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved 3 projects worth Rs9.168bn and submitted 2 projects worth Rs130bn to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for approval.
The approved projects include Strengthening the Existing Capacity of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad, costing Rs450 million, presented by the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS).
The proposed project for effective response against the Covid-19 pandemic will be financed through National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) under Grant Implementation Agreement by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group funds.
The committee approved the construction of a road between Sibi-Talli (20-km) and Kohlu-Rakhni (80-km) at the cost of Rs6.067bn. The cost of the project will be shared equally by the federal and provincial governments.
The Rehabilitation of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Rail Connectivity Project (phase-1) was approved by the CDWP at the cost of Rs2.652bn.
