Cement sales observe an increase of 50pc in May 2021

ISLAMABAD: As per the latest data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCM), cement sales have observed an increase of 50pc in May 2021.

According to the details, the total magnitude of cement sales stood at 3.201mn tons in May 2021 as compared to the magnitude of 2.271mn tons in the same period of last year. This marks an increase of 40.95pc.

Similarly, the cement exports also showed a robust increase of 105.56pc in May 2021 as the volume was recorded at 746550 tons as compared to the 363174 tons in May 2020.

In the first eleven months of the current fiscal year, the cement sales and exports stood at 52.2mn tons marking an increase of 20.91pc in comparison to the 43.189mn tons during the same period of last year.

Furthermore, the northern region sold 2.713mn tons of cement in May 2021 as compared to 2.001mn tons in May 2020.
