Rawalpindi: The construction of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project, along with the establishment of industrial zones around it, has officially begun. This project, spanning 38.3 kilometers, is set to be completed within a year. The Rawalpindi Ring Road will feature interchanges at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian, while industrial zones will be developed in its vicinity.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Liaqat Ali Chatha, inspected the project’s progress during his visit to Gorkhpur Tarahiya. Additional Commissioner Revenue Zone, Murtazi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Rawalpindi, Nabeel Sindhu, and Assistant Commissioner Cantonment Rawalpindi, Qandeel Fatima, were also present on this occasion.
Commissioner Rawalpindi emphasized the significance of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project, highlighting its potential to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance daily commuting convenience for residents of the surrounding areas. He underlined that this initiative would also create employment opportunities.
It’s worth noting that even before the commencement of construction, the Rawalpindi Ring Road project had faced disputes, leading to investigations by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) into alleged irregularities associated with the project.
