Gujranwala: A report on construction and rehabilitation of 50 roads costing more than Rs3 billion 90 crores has been prepared. This project of the Punjab Government is a part of the ’Naya Pakistan, Manzilein Asaan’ rural road developmental plan.
In a meeting, Commissioner Waqas Ali Mehmood has directed the developmental schemes to be in accordance with the governmental policies and feasibility. Once reviewed by the Secretary Communication and Works the developmental plan will be finalized for work to start. Six Deputy Commissioners of the division have been directed respectively. Roads will be widened from 10 ft to 12 ft.
Construction and rehabilitation of roads in the near future include four in Gujranwala, five in Gujrat, four in Mandi Bahauddin, four in Hafizabad, five of Sialkot and three in Narowal.
Officials as a part of the meeting included Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Naila Baqir, Development Director Muhammad Asghar, Development Deputy Director Dr. Muhammad Ghayas and several others.
