CPEC western route developing at a rapid pace: Asim Bajwa

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, Lt General (R), Asim Bajwa on Sunday informed that the development work on the western route of CPEC is progressing at a rapid pace.

The chairman took on Twitter and informed that almost 86pc of work is completed on Hakla-DI Khan Motorway whereas the road will be operationalised by August or September of this year.

He also informed that the work on Zhob-Quetta, Hoshab-Awaran route has also begun.

An official of the CPEC Authority informed that the road infrastructure over 1100km has already been completed whereas development work on 850km is underway.

Moreover, the official also told that special focus in the next phase will be given to four major sectors including Gwadar New City, socio-economic development, agriculture, and industry.

The official also highlighted that government will develop Rashakai Zone in three different phases while development work Allama Iqbal Zone is being done on a priority basis.
