Karachi: There are no plans under consideration of the Pakistan People’s Party or the Sindh Government to create more districts in Karachi. Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has said.
Saeed Ghani explained that no such discussions have been brought up at PPP’s parliamentary or Sindh cabinet’s meetings. However, a proposal by some residents of Keamari – that falls in district West – was reportedly sent to the Sindh revenue department seeking division of the district. This proposal has never come under official or party consideration.
Karachi has currently six districts – East, West, South, Central, Malir and Korangi.
