Development of GB a top priority: Finance Minister

ISLAMABAD: Shaukat Tarin, Federal Minister for Finance while chairing a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Wednesday said that the development of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) is a top priority of the government.

The dignitaries of the meeting included Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umer; the Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Abdul Razak Dawood, and other senior government officials.

In the meeting, Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umer put forward the Attabad Lake Hydropower Project summary worth Rs25.4bn.

According to the details, the 54MW project will be executed by WAPDA and the project will be situated on the Bank of Hunza River.

The committee advised the government of GB and WAPDA to work on preparing the feasibility report of the project.
