
ISLAMABAD: “Work on the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will begin early next year,” informed Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Investment and Public-Private Partnership Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar.
In this regard, a letter of award (LOA) has been issued to a private contractor for the SEZ project under the industrial cooperation phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The project will be completed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Apart from creating over 100,000 job opportunities, the project is expected to generate investment worth $1 billion investment, he further added.
The distinct feature of the project includes direct access to Port Qasim and the National Highway via a designated route that will help turn Dhabeji into an economic centre of industrialisation.
