
LAHORE: Commissioner of Lahore and the Director General of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Tuesday, instructed the formulation of an online bidding system for the auctioning of plots and commercial properties.
During a meeting held at the Commissioner’s office, Randhawa expressed his desire to provide special support to investors in obtaining the necessary documentation related to commercial properties as part of the “Ease of Doing Business” initiatives.
The Lahore Development Authority will offer attractive investment opportunities in the provincial capital for investors, and take initiatives to enhance resource generation, similar to the private sector.
The Commissioner and DG LDA issued instructions to the IT Directorate to develop an online bidding system as soon as possible.
Moreover, they emphasized that the purpose of the online bidding system is to protect investors from delaying tactics and unnecessary actions and practices.
Randhawa directed that the bidding process for the auctioning of plots and other commercial properties be developed on modern lines, and the online bidding process be adopted along with the traditional bidding process.
He further expressed his desire to reach the maximum number of possible investors from within the country and abroad through the online bidding process.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Israr Saeed Khan, Additional DG Headquarters Imran Ali, Additional DG Housing Syed Munawar Bukhari, Director DG Headquarters Asif Hussain, Director Finance, officers of Punjab Finance Department, Director Development Lahore Division Javed Chauhan and other relevant officers.
