District development package worth Rs360bn approved to redress the grievances of neglected areas

LAHORE: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar stated for the first time in history, Rs360 billion are allocated under the district development package to redress the grievances of the neglected areas of Punjab.

The CM further stated that the PTI government completed the construction of Punjab Assembly building at the cost of Rs2.5 billion. 

He even mentioned that after 15 years, construction of Wazirabad Cardiology was completed at the cost of Rs3.5 billion. Now, the cardiology institute has already catered to 650,000 patients so far. 

 As per details, Punjab is the only province to have achieved its target of 24.7 per cent increase in revenue as stated by Punjab Revenue Authority. Moreover, an 18 per cent increase is witnessed in the tax collection target in the Excise department. In order to minimise the effects of COVID-19 pandemic, special packages and incentives were given.
