
ISLAMABAD: In a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC), chaired by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin, development projects worth Rs301.727 billion were approved.
The approved projects include the construction of 10th Avenue from IJP road to Srinagar Highway Islamabad at a total cost of Rs12.139bn.
The project, scheduled to be completed within two years, will be executed in two phases. It is aimed to ease the traffic woes of residents of the capital city.
The second project approved was the construction of the 69km long Sialkot (Sambrial)–Kharian Motorway, featuring 4-lanes.
The New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) 2nd revised project worth Rs51.298 billion was also approved in the meeting. The project includes the construction of NGIA and other facilities over pre-acquired land, replacing the existing Gwadar airport with limited capacity.
