
ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Wednesday approved the construction of 306km Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway at a revised cost of Rs 191.471 billion along with 9 other development projects.
Finance Minister, Shaukat Tarin, presided over the ECNEC meeting through video link and approved the construction of Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway at a cost of Rs. 191.471 billion. The motorway will be six-laned and fenced. It will be included in the next federal budget.
As per reports, ECNEC also gave go-ahead to the construction of the 30 MW Hydro Power Project Ghowari worth Rs. 16,399.760 million. The project will be located on the left bank of Shayok River near Ghowari Village, District Ghnache in Gilgit Baltistan. The timeline for the completion of the project is 4 years.
According to details, other projects like Rainee Canal Project, Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar project, Mardan-Swabi Road project and Gomal Zam Multipurpose project etc. The projects will be worth Rs. 361.5 billion.
