ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has claimed that the project of Expressway widening from Korang Bridge to PWD interchange has been expedited and will be completed before the given deadline.
It is pertinent to state that the Frontier Worker Organization (FWO) received the contract for the project encompassing a 2kms road and Railway bridge from CDA in January this year. The stipulated timeline was 15 months.
A senior CDA official further informed that FWO will also complete the work on the Korang Bridge Project in the coming months as the previous contractor had already completed almost 50% of the work. The previous contractor had stopped working on the project due to a hike in construction material prices and was removed by CDA for not meeting the deadline.
A statement by CDA also said that the work on service road widening from Faizabad to Koral is also to be initiated after the current Expressway widening project has been completed.
In the previous years, the service road from Faizabad to Koral has been widened. Now, the widening will be extended till the PWD underpass. For further widening till Grand Trunk Road Rawat, CDA has filed for funding approval from the federal government.
