Spanning 24 kilometers from Thokar Niaz Baig to Harbanspura, the Yellow Line is designed to carry around 130,000 passengers daily, alleviating congestion and enhancing commuter convenience. The project is estimated to cost PKR 80 billion and is expected to be completed between September 2025 and June 2026.

Plans include the deployment of 20 electric train sets from China, pending formal approval by the Punjab Cabinet and ECNEC. The Yellow Line is part of a larger vision to build an integrated urban rail system in Lahore, complementing the ongoing Blue and Purple Line developments.

These initiatives reaffirm the provincial government’s commitment to improving public transport, reducing emissions, and modernizing Lahore’s urban mobility infrastructure.
