KARACHI: Remittances received under the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) initiative crossed $4.6 billion in June 2022, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Deposits made by overseas Pakistanis under RDAs reached a total of $250 million in June 2022, as compared to $189 million in May 2022, indicating a rise of 32 percent on a month-on-month (MoM) basis.
According to official data, a total of 429,364 RDAs have been registered since the project’s initiation, with an average increase of three percent on an MoM basis from May to June 2022.
The Roshan Digital Account is an initiative of the SBP, in collaboration with commercial banks, to offer innovative digital baking solutions to Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRPs) that wish to engage in payment, baking, and investment activities in Pakistan.
