ISLAMABAD: The Engineering Wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has recently sent a letter to the Frontier Work Organization (FWO), the authority responsible for the construction of Margalla Road, requesting the completion of pending work.
The Margalla Road project spans 10.4 km, from G.T. Road to D-12, and was made accessible to the public two months ago. It is worth noting that the road has three lanes on each side, but the fencing of the road is yet to be started.
Moreover, the CDA has requested the FWO to finish the installation of cat eyes, road signage, and some asphalt work that is yet to be completed.
In addition, the contractor has been urged to improve the quality of the road and complete the signage, lane marking, and construction work in the last RD area.
Not only this, the CDA has also requested the completion of the work on Shah Allah Ditta underpass approach roads, drainage work, retaining walls, tourism and historical signage, and cleaning of drains.
The CDA has emphasized the importance of the timely completion of the project, considering its significance for the public.
Meanwhile, the construction of another 5 km road from sector D-12 to E-11, including an interchange, is currently underway.
The CDA has urged the FWO to prioritize the completion of the pending work on Margalla Road to ensure the timely completion of the project and ensure the convenience and safety of commuters.
