As per schedule, the new map and guidelines in accordance with parameters of master plan are expected to be unveiled next month. The smart port city has been divided into three timelines- 2025, 2035 and 2050. The next five years focus on the availability of basic necessities of a modern city required into transforming Gwadar into a thriving city.

The Gwadar Smart Port City would transform the port city into a centre for business activity, industrialization and global trade, uplifting the socio economic sector.

Chairman Naseer Khan Kashani said that only will Gwadar shorten the trade routes but will soon be linked with the national grid. It will in return initiate the 300- megawatt coal based power project.

While several projects are in different phases of completion, the pace for current projects is satisfying. Complete development of the port will take 20 to 25 years, said the Chairman.
